week 2

Traditionally journalism has been defined as what appears in newspapers, newsmagazines, and electronic media news programing but now in present time news are no longer accurate. There are shows such as “The Daily Show” with Jon Stewart that have taken the way news are presented to a whole different level. This show it takes the news of the day to a whole new level, using real news footage, taped field pieces and on-the-spot coverage of important issues they create an interesting, fun version of the news. One of the reasons why so many people are watching shows such as “The Daily Show” is because of the way they communicate politics to the public, unlike the typical FOX, CNN, and MSNBC news, Jon Stewart just uses his show to express news in a manner in which the public enjoys. In my experience while watching the typical “news” channel I feel that the information that is being broadcasted is much of their own political views; at times I have witnessed the news are being used towards the show’s own political benefit, that in a way it seems as if the information they are providing is false. I believe that even if news are to inform us about our surroundings, nationally or globally they all have a side to them that is omitted. Now days, youth, and young adults tend to not read, hear or watch the news, therefore if news have an ironic, humorous tone to them, it would bring more attention to the public to watch news. It would also be beneficial for the government if they want to mind control the inhabitants of the country, because a bigger percentage of the inhabitants would be more prompt to watch news if they have “factual” information that is being presented in a humorous manner, that will not only bring a comic sense to the news, but also would have the certainty of what the real purpose of the news is.
