After reading issue 12 I was a bit shocked to find that it wasn’t really a hate speech it was more like a talk shit speech. All he was talking about was nothing this makes me believe that anything can be published these days besides all there other junk that’s out already. He also talks about Muslims and calls them jihadist and also says homeless are not the victims of misfortune there just lazy he says but I think the reason why some people are homeless is because they are ether addict to something or the come from another state and they can’t find a job. He also talks about how African Americans and says that there always dealing with the criminal justice system. When in fact that is not true because a lot of people go to jail doesn’t matter the color of your skin or hair. He also talked about how the government helps people and give out food stamp and thinks that the public is largely for white people which are being threatened by immigrants. I just think he is ignorant if he thinks this way because people who are still living here illegal still have to pay taxes buy food from our store pay for gas and live like normal people. And most of them always take the hard jobs that no one wants. I think this guy is just full of bs.

Racism

In today’s world racism exist everywhere not only in the U.S. but in other parts of the world. Racism has been around over hundreds of years. It is conscience of humans that few things are far superior to others. This can be explained in the detail with example of skin color. Cultural difference between various communities was one of the reason for abetting racism .As societies tries to bind itself together which has bound people to adapt to different cultures has indeed influenced hate and eventually given rise to racism. Asians been targeted in the western world. Asians are attacked because they have different culture and when they settle in western world they bring discomfort to western lifestyle therefore leading to racism. Skin color is another factor which has influenced racism. Though humans have the tendency to relate things with each other color is one of those factors. Africans are targeted because they are black and human ethics considers black to be related to bad or evil. They have been victims of racism from the white community, as they consider themselves to be superior to blacks.

pot ban in redwood city

As a resident of Redwood City I feel that Redwood City should be aloud to have dispensaries that can sale pot but the city thinks that by are city having those it makes our city increase by more crime. But in fact by them taking them away that would just lead people to buy pot from the streets. They say by taking them away that would stop the crime in Redwood City l think that people are still going to smoke and that would just help drug dealers make more money and sale more drugs. I feel like some people do abuse the medical marijuana but then again as long as there not hurting anyone why should we get into someone personal life. I feel everyone can make there own choices in life.

The evolution of technology has made a huge impact in our society. From the invention of the wheel in the 4th millennium BC to now the invention of such things as the ipad have made life much more simpler for individuals. These evolutionary inventions have met their purpose of making life much more simpler. I have been able to see the change over the decades. I remember when I was 10 and it was difficult to move your self around in unfamiliar cities, there was a time when I was on a road trip with my family and I really wanted krispy kreme donuts but we had no clue where the closest one, I told my mom that soon there was going to be a phone so smart that it would be able to tell you where the closest Krispy Kreme was from your current location and indeed that did occur. I feel like people are more dependent on technology to perform tasks but that does not mean people are brainless. The newer generations are just lazier because they know a simpler way of performing tasks, it’s as if they we have everything at the reach of our fingertips. The evolution of technology does have a great positive side to as well as a negative side. Technology is great but it does make people us dependent and it makes me wonder what our generation would do if  technology was to be taken away from us, what would we do. 

Issue 3

In today’s world people are judged by their appearances and the color of their skin. The media does a good job at making the viewer believe the stereotypes. Arabs are viewed as if they are terrorist due to the fact that one person committed a crime. In my opinion, not all Arabs are the same just because they might dress the same and or practice the same religion; this doesn’t define them as terrorists. The media can be strong in conveying that all Arabs have the same believes and ideas of their religion. For instance, in a widely viewed TV show called Family Guy they make the viewer believe that Arabs are bad and are all corrupt, you have children of all ages watching this even though they rate it PG-13. They are programming children at a young age to believe these stereotypes. However, I think that they do a lot for us; for example, give us oil. We don’t hear the media advertising the good they do. One should think about the help they give us instead of judging them for what one guy did to our country. I believe that in every race there will be people that make the entire race look bad, and for that we shouldn’t judge them. I think the media has a lot of fault for the way society thinks; we should not see them as a whole but as individuals.
